Print Our ‘Missing’ Poster to Speak Up for Cows Exploited for Dairy

How does that gallon of milk make it to the shelf? First, workers rape and harass female animals—forcibly impregnating them and then dragging their babies away. Cows endure this trauma and heartbreak over and over again in order for humans to steal the milk meant for their calves.

Why? Because humans think they need cow’s milk to be healthy. Why? Because the dairy industry has paid millions to advertise in schools, doctor’s offices, and elsewhere for decades. But it’s all a lie. Humans don’t need cow’s milk. Besides humans (and companion animals fed by humans), no species drinks milk beyond the age of weaning or drinks the milk of another species. Cow’s milk is suited to the nutritional needs of calves, not humans—and many people, particularly people of color, are lactose intolerant.

Dairy foods—we’re talking milk, cheese, yogurt, ice cream, and butter—tear families apart.

Have you seen this calf? He may have been taken from his mom and put inside a cramped crate all alone—before being slaughtered for veal. Or she may have been taken from her mom and put in a small pen to be raped and inseminated as soon as she’s “old enough,” just like her mother.

Print this “Missing” poster and put it on milk cartons or gallons of milk wherever you see them to remind dairy consumers that cow’s milk involves taking babies from their loving mothers and destroying families.
