Apply Now: SOS Advanced Internships!

ICYMI: Students Opposing Speciesism (SOS) offers an advanced internship program that’s open to current college students and recent college grads! These are remote, paid, part-time, temporary positions at People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA)—the world’s largest animal rights organization—working on our SOS movement to inspire young people to take action for animal liberation. Internships typically last three months, and you’ll get a chance to work alongside PETA’s campaigns, strategy, and movement-building professionals; get their insights into your own projects to help animals; and do so much more.

We’re now hiring for our spring 2023 internship team! Read more about the role, the qualifications, and the application here:

Isabella, SOS Advanced Intern (Spring 2022)

“The SOS advanced internship has been the highlight of my year so far! It’s been so amazing to work with such passionate women that all have the same goal of liberating animals. I feel truly valued by the staff and they are always wanting to hear opinions from the interns about every project. As interns, we have so much creative freedom to develop Instagram content, set up our own demos, be involved with demos across the country and work on projects we feel passionate about. I couldn’t be more thankful to have had this opportunity to work for PETA and SOS.

Alexis, SOS Advanced Intern (Spring 2022)

“I have absolutely loved my experience as a PETA SOS Advanced Intern and am grateful for all that I have learned so far. I feel empowered to use my knowledge as a young activist to help create engaging campaigns that will inspire other students to take action for animals. My typical work day involves brainstorming new projects with the other SOS staff, creating social media content to spread the animal rights message, and assisting other departments of PETA such as TeachKind. It is amazing to be behind the scenes helping to grow, and growing alongside, the organization that inspired me to advocate for animals in the first place.”

Amulya, SOS Advanced Intern (Summer 2021)

“I really enjoyed the PETA SOS internship and I learned so much from it. I got to work on so many amazing projects and I was given so much creative freedom. I got to do so many different things like making a recipe reel, making illustrations, and helping TeachKind make a worksheet for young students. I even organized an ice cream giveaway, which definitely helped me come out of my comfort zone. It was so amazing to work with people who are very passionate about animal rights, and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.”
